PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER
Salary: $45,000 annually

Description:
The City of Arcola is currently taking applications for a Public Works Employee. Candidates must be able to perform strenuous physical labor over extended periods of time in all weather conditions, be able to efficiently read and interpret plans and maps, and safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools, vehicles, and related maintenance equipment. Ability to practice safe work practices and make use of proper safety equipment as required. This position requires the employee to work some weekends and may require the employee to be on call. This position will be required to assist with duties in other departments as needed.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma. Candidates should have strong verbal/written communication skills and be able to coordinate projects from inception to completion. Previous experience in public works, utility, construction, and/or maintenance work is preferred. Candidates must have a good driving record, with an Illinois CDL License preferred. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
